Zimele Wethu 2018 CLA Leaders Retreat Report

As a team of staff at Zimele Wethu Foundation, we are very grateful to Covenant World Relief and Zimele Community Canada for according us the privilege to run a 4 days Cluster Level Associations’ (CLAs) Leaders’ Retreat that was held from 29 October to 2 November 2018. We are also grateful to Zimele USA and E3 Initiative for their continued support to ensure that these CLAs receive ongoing mentorship so that they function effectively as umbrella bodies of their member Self Help Groups.

The retreat, which was a big treat for the 50 CLAs leaders in attendance, was held at Camp Jonathan in Eston, KwaZulu Natal.
The purpose of the retreat was to strengthen the Cluster Level Associations’ leadership so that they can continue to effectively run their economic and social development aspirations in their 5 rural communities of KwaZulu Natal. Each Cluster Level Association in the 5 communities (Durban rural, Mtubatuba, Msinga, Swayimane and Willowfountain) sent 10 representatives to the retreat.
