Zimele Wethu January 2016 Monthly Update Report

After the end of year holiday season, Zimele Wethu staff were back to their office desks and into the communities on the 11th January 2016 to work and work really hard to the glory of God. We ourselves are amazed at the growth and impact of Zimele Wethu Foundation, which was only launched four months ago. Our God is indeed walking and working with us. Four of our major achievements in the last four months are:

  • Ongoing mobilisation, training and creating Self Help Groups in the five communities we are working in, Willowfountain, Swayimane, Matubatuba, Msinga and rural Durban to create partnerships with community people who have amazing development aspirations.

  • Hosting an amazing spiritual retreat that was generously sponsored by Zimele Canada. We had time to pray together, worship together and hear God afresh. The retreat has given impetus to both Zimele Wethu staff and community people.

  • An invitation by the tribal leadership in Swayimane to work in the community and support the women in their desire for development. This came as a big surprise after all the divisive activities the devil had tried to throw at Zimele Wethu Directors. We attribute the above to God’s mercies and grace. Truly vindication is God’s work on behalf of His people.

  • Growing partnership beyond funding but relationships that continue to be built with credible organisations locally and internationally.
